BEFORE YOU GO

What to bring with you to the desert!

Before your go, make sure you prepare a few essential items to ensure a smooth experience. Bring a pen to fill out the landing card for immigration, and keep your travel insurance and our contact numbers accessible. Pack personal hygiene items such as tissues, wet wipes, and a small towel, as you will be traveling to remote areas with limited shop availability. Protect your devices from desert dust using sealable pouches, and don’t forget sun protection like sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Choose appropriate footwear—trekking sandals or light trainers for the desert, and canvas walking shoes for mountain treks. A jacket or fleece is important for cold desert nights, while light and comfortable clothes are ideal for hot days. Bring a socket adapter if your devices use non-European plugs, as well as a small torch. You may also want to bring something to pass the time during long drives or quiet desert evenings, such as a book, a journal, or simple travel games like cards. Finally, carry a small personal pharmacy with anti-diarrheal medicine, aspirin or paracetamol, disinfectant, cotton, and a few bandages.
